I Won a RUNNR Shirt!

June 24th, 2011 No comments

After a long hiatus (I backpacked Mindanao for 16 days) just want to start up this blog again.

Just a quick note of thanks to RUNNR for their Twitter contest that won me Php500 GC for my tweet:

@RUNNRstore Coach Sid Vildosola inspires me a lot kasi even putol ung kamay nya, lumalaban parin sya sa mga walang kapansanan.nagcocoach pa!

When I claimed the GC at RUNNR Trinoma, I bought a RUNNR shirt right away.

Muchos Gracias RUNNR!

How about you? Who makes you perspire? Or to rephrase the question, who inspire you to run miles?

Hope to hear from you!

New Shoes Model from Brooks Running

May 10th, 2011 10 comments

By July this year, Brooks will launch their new products in the Philippine Running scene. Among the many are:

Brooks Glycerin 9

Price: US$130

Features:

Brooks Ghost 4 (All-Terrain Running)

Price: US$100

Features:

Brooks Adrenaline ASR GTX

Price: US$120

Features:

Going Green with BIOMOGO

Brooks have taken the long-lasting cushioning of their MoGo midsole and made it more environmentally friendly by adding a non-toxic, natural additive to the MoGo compound that encourages anaerobic to munch away once it hits an active, enclosed landfill. In short, when your shoe retires and goes to the trash, the MoGo ingredient in the sole would activate and will accelerate the biogradation process from the usual 1,000 years (for a regular shoe sole) to just 20 years (BioMoGo). I’m in support for this kind of development! Way to go Brooks!

Shoes with DNA technology

DNA is a groundbreaking, patent-pending cushioning material that provides a customized ride for runners of all sizes and speeds. DNA responds to your every step, dispersing impact and providing ideal comfort and protection as the pace and surface change.

  • Highly viscous non-Newtonian (non-linear) polymer fluid
  • Engineered at the molecular level to provide adaptable performance for Brooks shoes
  • Patent-pending formulation and application

Something to look forward to, right… Me? I still want that T7 Racer. I heard that the new model is designed specifically for triathletes because you can easily slip on and off the shoes. :)

Pogi ng shoes diba?

Teleserv Services

May 7th, 2011 2 comments

When runners relax, they watch a movie…

I was invited to watch Fast Five by Teleserv last Wednesday. And the movie was awesome! Thanks to Teleserv, seems like you guys want to imitate the quickness of Vin Diesel by delivering our documents like Birth Certificate, OEC or an appointment with the DFA for our passport (which I will be needing soon).

Teleserv or Pilipinas Teleserv, Inc. (Teleserv) began operations in June 2000 as a multi‐channel contact center provider. The company conceptualized and developed proprietary services for various Philippine government agencies that have revolutionized the way citizens transact with government. These services have changed the way Filipino transact with the government.

Teleserving the nation.

I am reminded of how I was able to get my Birth Certificate when I was applying for a Passport really fast years ago. I just called 737-1111 and they delievered the NSO-certified birth certificate just in time. Now they also offering a live chat via birthcertificates.com.ph.

Why go through the long queue lines (like when you are getting the loot bag or free photo from a 10,000-runners race) when getting your documents if you can accomplish it in the comforts of your own house. You can watch the video to have a better look at what I’m talking about:

TELESERV TVC

So if you need your NSO-certified Birth Certificate, OEC (for OFWs) or an appointment with the DFA for your passport concerns these are the contact infos:

Thanks again Teleserv and I will be contacting you soon!

Fireworks for my 1st Running Blog Anniversary!!!

March 1st, 2011 12 comments
It was the morning of February 19, 2010 that I decided to write about my runs (1st post: I would run away). I so engrossed into running that I wanted to share my progress to friends and fellow runners. Time flies to fast that I just found out that this is my 152nd post and an anniversary post at
that, so HAPPY 1st RUNNING BLOG ANNIVERSARY to me.

Celebrating this with some FIREWORKS from SM Mall of Asia. Yes, I watched the China and France fireworks display last night and it was epic, especially China. They indeed painted the black sky with bursts of colors- dancing yellow, red, green, blue, orange and violet flares.

Showers of fireworks while the crowd record the moment thru their cameras and phones, France’s display
For more information visit pyrophilippines.com

Thanks for a wonderful night SM Mall of Asia and Sir Melo of outoftownblog.com.

Along with the celebrations, I would like to thank certain people who have influenced me one way or another into blogging.

Sir Wayne Plymale. I can still remember your comment (the very first comment I received): “ Hi James. A great start to your blog. You did it so well. Continue the great success with this, with the things you do on Daily Mile, with running and your every day
life. Take care my friend! – Wayne”

Kenley Jones. Thank you for reading my blog and commenting on each post. I appreciate that brother and hope to run with you when you come here in the Philippines. We will definitely have a series of rave runs.

RunningAtom, MinnieRunner, Estan, Jazzrunner, Maan C, Kassy and D-LonerRunner- you guys are the first group of bloggers I get contact and meet.

Daily Mile, because of you it excites me to log another run because I know it will somehow motivate others to run too.

Takbo.ph/Boss Jinoe, your site has been my constant companion in checking upcoming races. Bookmarked na ang site and forum. I learned a lot from this site. And Boss J, thanks for giving me an opportunity to meet some runner/bloggers too and for sharing my posts in your shared links.

Ms.Jaymie aka TBR, if not for the TBR Dream Marathon 2010 edition, I would not have been so focused in training and believing in myself that I can do the distance with proper training. Thanks a lot, I’ m your fan and your faithful reader.

RunRio/Coach Rio, thanks for the inspiration. I always think of your humble beginnings. Saludo! Thanks too for the complimentary race kits.

Ms.Vima aka KulitRunner, thanks po for the invitations to running event launches! Kita kits po sa events launch.

Alabang Snail Runners, thanks for reading/sharing my blog posts. Thanks for the support and for the drive to blog more. Special thanks to Sir Toel for challenging me to post blog that is unbias; to Jojo (21K pacer) for always recommending my blogs and the photos you gladly share; and Ed for the nice logo you did. Sorry sa mga hindi ko nabanggit. To every member of Snail Runners, salamat po ng marami, miss ko na tumakbo with you
guys.

I also would like to thank Barefoot Wear Inc. for the Vibram Five Fingers , Summit Media and Men’ s Health, Nature Valley, Team Logan, Unilab, Sir Noriel for the “ Run for your rice” race kits, Ms. Katie B for the “ Bull Run 2011” race kits, RunHigh Shirts, and Karylle for RTing some of my tweets.

I thank all my readers and commenters! You guys are an encouragement to me. Hope I can give everyone of you new pair of running shoes. J

I also thank my family for the support they give me in this running endeavor.

I also thank my God- my strength in running, You are my sun and shield. Thank you for the life and the ability to run and enjoy life. I love you!

After more than a year of running, I’ m happy to see my mileage at 1,850 kilometers. I was able to run at the northernmost part of the Philippines- Batanes and to the southern part- Camiguin in Mindanao. I hope to run on more places this 2011.

Finally, please do share the site to others as well, to those who want a healthy lifestyle. Would you also do another mile for me by “ liking” my Facebook Fanpage- journeyingjames or if you already did, recommend it to other runners as well. :)

Muli, sa kaibuturan ng aking puso, MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT PO!

I have some plans on my second year in blogging, those are:
1. Focus on promoting out-of-town races.
2. Share the thrill of trail runs.
3. Continue doing rave runs around the Philippines.

All for the best!
