About Me
Hello! I’m James Betia. I started running October of 2009, started to join a race in UPLB. A 5K fun run and since then I have enjoyed the sweat running gives me maybe because of what they call runner’s high. February of 2010, I started training for my first Full Marathon, The Bull Runner Dream Marathon, which I successfully finished last May 22, 2010.
This blog was born when I just wanted to log my runs. Since then it became a regular thing to write reviews on races i joined, running places i rave about, race announcements and anything about running.
I run because its a way of escape and a form of healing. Since I can’t run away from the future I would run away from the past- the hurts, the mess, hang-ups and pain.
This would mean running into a future bright and new. Running therefore becomes spiritual in the sense that I tell myself (literally and figuratively) that I cannot change the past but I can approach the future with optimism and hope. Its leaving the past, learning from it and striding forward for a better day. I ought not to run along the roads that hurt me or if I do, I retrace my steps with caution not repeating the failures I did before.
Running is not my sports, it has become a way of life. I can say that it keeps me healthy- mentally and physically. C’mon, LET’S RUN!
Btw, I love traveling too and I specialize in budget travels, you can visit my travel blog at JOURNEYINGJAMES.COM
