Serene Run at Fernando Airbase, Lipa City
Serene Run at Fernando Airbase, Lipa City
I should have ran yesterday but because of too much eating and lounging around, I didn’t. What a bad way to start the year. But then again, you can rise up and correct that right.
So today, I told myself to live healthy. You can skip the following sentences if you want.
I just ate pineapples and grapes for breakfast. Don’t ask me about lunch and I’m eating pasta for dinner as I’m writing this.
Anyway, I just came back from a serene run at Fernando Airbase, Lipa City. What a nice way to start the year, noh?

Btw, Fernando Airbase is the home of all the pilots of AFP.
What I love about this run are the trees around the parade grounds- Narras, Ipil, Mangoes, Pine trees and more. The Amihan air was a perfect driving force as I strive to get faster on straight the asphalt road. I encircled the parade grounds four times making my run a perfect 5K.

Courage. Patriotism. Dedication (Could be a good mantra for running right?)

Fernando Airbase Hangar, you can still see the T-41D inside
Ohhhh, I should tell you about the setting sun over Mt. Maculot, truly majestic from my vantage point.

Mt Maculot on a sunset

Just me and the road. How serene is that?
Last one thing, its also cool to see some cadets chant something like 1, 2, 3 while they run as a platoon.
More infos about the run:
PROS
1. Serene grass area and airfield. This is Fernando Airbase
2. Fresh clean air- smells pine.
3. Asphalt surface. Do you know that running on asphalt road be better for those who have Achilles tendonitis? This is because the sturdy surface keeps your Achilles tendon in a less-tensed position.
4. Almost zero vehicles.
CONS
1. Some parts of the road are a bit uneven which can lead to ITBS. You know ITBS if you are a runner.
