24-Day Bike Pilgrimage from Cagayan to Davao #padyak2013
Do you know that there is an on-going bike pilgrimage in the country? This is done by my friends from Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, Jude Cabangal and Felcon. As of this posting they are now in Sta. Ana, Cagayan and will start the 24-day non-stop bike journey from Luzon to Mindanao.

They call this sojourn: PADYAK TUNGO SA LIWANAG 2013

As a celebration of the Light, a bicycle pilgrimage will be undertaken all over the country this January 2013, a conscious effort to sting beads of Light all over the nation. The bike pilgrimage in will commence in Palaui Island (Northern Luzon, near Aparri) on January 01, 2013 andculminate in Davao on January 29, 2013to join the Liwanag World Festival 2013.

This journey has been initiated for the following purpose – a Filipino way of strengthening oneself and one’s beloved country through an inner and outer journey (PILGRIMAGE-Lakaran):
- Sharpening of one’s mastery with the self- ride as a way of building our self inside and outside;
- Integration of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the self through daily bike-meditation exercises; be in communion with nature interacting with the realities and wonders of the Philippines;
- Building higher collectives: connecting with kindred spirits along the way with their initiatives, dreams and thoughts; and
- This ride will be a way of preparing for the momentous event in 2013 that would affect our lives: the Liwanag Festival in Davao – way of marking certain points in the country with historical and geographical significance, as well as meeting with common folks and people whom we admire and have contributed in building our country.
The national bike tour or the “Padyak Tungo sa Liwanag” is just one way of showing support to the Liwanag World Festival. Many like-minded souls will also be participating in various ways. The tour symbolizes a deeper meaning for us as we will try to ride and share with the country the gift of the Light.
