Running in Zamboanga City: Camins Road to Upper Pasonanca

I wasn’t expecting that I would met runners at the southwestern most tip of mainland Mindanao- Zamboanga City, much more to know that they are nor Zamboangenos but American and German.

Somewhere in Pasonanca Road going to…

The White Cross

We met at Jollibee Cammins about 5:30am and started running even the roads are still drenched from the rain the night before. Up we go to Pasonanca (where the famous TreeHouse and Pasonanca Park is), the pacing was fast sub 6:00/minute even if the road was going uphill.

I and Mary (German) are running together and Charlie (American) was lagging behind as he is still nursing a leg injury.

Big Helmet in between 2 Cannons

What makes this run special is the ending part- I and Mary challenged the Upper Pasonanca Hill where you can see a lovely panoramic view of the whole city, you can also see the nearby island of Basilan.

The mountain on the far end is Basilan

Breath taken away as I was stilled by the beauty of the crisp morning- a run to remember!
