Sali Ako D’yan: Run For A Cause. Help Save Boracay Beach
How do you want to run here? A Half-Marathon maybe?
I believe I have said it many times that I love running outside of Manila and maybe this is what I am waiting for-
A Running event right on the famous Boracay Island dubbed,
Sali Ako D’yan: Run For A Cause. Help Save Boracay Beach,
a BORACAY FUN RUN ACTIVITY that will happen on April 23, 2011.
I support this because this aims to create awareness and start an advocacy in keeping our environment clean. The organizers partnered with Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and Municipality of Malay Aklan.

The categories for the said run are 2.5k / 5k / 10k / 21k. For the 1st time the run will not just focus at the beach front (Stations 1-3) but also the back street up to the ECO VILLAGE (this is where Puka Beach is, my favorite beach in the island).
Each year there are 300,000 people in the island for vacation and to part. With this, we are confident that we will be able to gather more than 5,000 attendees since the event will happen during Holy Week, BLACK SATURDAY. After the race during the day we are holding a FREE after party and awarding ceremony celebration at night at Summer Place (my favorite bar in Boracay) beach front with an international DJ to entertain the guest.
The FUN RUN target families and teens aged 13 to 50 years old and above to join the race. The run aims to raise funds for the activities of Boracay projects for its efforts particularly for ordinance number 2001-141 “An ordinance banning the extractions and collection of white sand and pebbles in the beaches of Boracay Island."

Registration Area(s): Toby’s SM North Edsa (opens March 11). More registration areas will be available soon.
Event Organizer: Lynber Events Unlimited Inc.
Now save up, look for promo ticket and get ready! On towards the white sands of Boracay!

Ok..that’d be great..hope to hear from you soon..because entities being mentioned in it didn’t have the idea why they became involved to this program without having them formally informed. Thanks much! Have a great day!

Hello, this is to inform you that Boracay Yuppies is not informed of such an activity. I, as a member, along with my co-members are clueless of such activity. We have coordinated with the Local Goverment Unit of Malay, the BFI, and the BCCI and they have no idea of such event. Who is the proponent and please explain to us why we were included without our consent?
Hoping for your prompt reply.

Hi Mar, This is Bong one of the promoter of the event. We would just like to clarify with your group regarding your concern for the race. This event is in partnership with the Municipality of Malay Aklan, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries – Boracay. We have asked the approval of PCCI before we used their campaign regarding the advocacy of the run.
We would like to apologize if we have included BFI and Boracay Yuppies in our previous write up. There has been an error in the material we sent and over looked to emit BFI and Boracay Yuppies.
Rest assured that this project is a sole partnership activity with the Municipality of Malay Aklan and PCCI-Boracay only.
Thank you.

Hi Bong, PCCI-Boracay was not aware of your event and never gave the permission to authorize the organizers to use our PCCI name as endorser. Getting an ok from a chamber member does not constitute authorization to do so. All endorsements for any event must be approved by the PCCI Board of Trustees and none of the board members was aware of your event. Would like to point this out to you now. Kindly rectify the situation by removing our the PCCI name as an endorser. Thank you… Ariel Abriam, President – PCCI Boracay
