"on a shoestring"

Last Saturday, I already gave up on joining the CamSur Marathon, I actually want to run the 21K. Because of some financial concerns, I have no choice but to say pass. Still, deep inside my heart I really wanted to experience running there. “Naging JourneyingJames pa ako kung ‘di rin pala ako makakatakbo sa CamSur.” (Why call myself journeyingjames if I can’t experience the journey at CamSur). So I prayed to God that He would provide for my desire.

Guess what? A friend of mine offered me her complete 21K racekit with a medium singlet (perfect for my size) because she can’t make it. Then last Tuesday (Sept.21), another friend told me that they still have a space for me in their van (I will just chip-in for the gasoline). Just this afternoon (Sept.23), I received an approval for my CouchSurfing request and another friend offered his place near CamSur, now I already have a place to stay for two nights.  Now, I’m packing my stuff and I’m ready to go to CamSur tomorrow. Lesson: I may not be rich in material things or finances but I can proudly say that I have lots of friends and experience. Yeah- those any amount of money can’t buy. Thank God and thank you for friends who helped.

I just want to enjoy the route and maybe a PR – Pasyal Relax pace. And maybe try wakeboarding.
